Dress Code 2023-2024

If your child has more than one class an evening, they will not be changing their dancewear between classes.

Please carefully read below to see what dancewear should be worn.

> If your child has multiple classes an evening and one is Ballet, they are to follow their Ballet dress code regardless of which class is first.
> Hip Hop attire is not permissible in any other class. If your child has multiple classes on an evening they have Hip Hop Hip Hop, they are to follow the dress code for the other class. Students are permitted to wear their t-shirt over their leotard for Hip Hop.
> All dancers must come to class with their hair worn up in a ponytail, braid, or bun. All Ballet students must have their hair in a bun.
 

Combo I and II
Plain black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black Mary Jane tap shoes.

Combo Ballet Hip Hop
Plain black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and sneakers designated for studio use only.

​

Combo Tap Hip Hop
Plain black leotard, suntan tights, black Mary Jane tap shoes, and sneakers designated for studio use only.

​

Ballet
Pink tights, plain black leotard, pink ballet slippers, plain black ballet skirt (optional).

Tap
Plain black leotard, suntan or black tights, suntan Tap shoes.
> Intermediate Level 1 – Students should have both suntan flat tap shoes AND 1.5 inch suntan Tap heels.
> Intermediate 2/Adv – Students should have both suntan flat tap shoes AND 2.5 inch suntan Tap heels.

Jazz
Plain black leotard, suntan or black tights, suntan Jazz shoes.

​

Musical Theater
Plain black leggings, Palmyra Academy of Dance t-shirt, and suntan Jazz shoes.

​

Hip Hop
Plain black leggings, Palmyra Academy of Dance t-shirt, and sneakers designated for studio use only.

​

Modern
Plain black leotard, suntan footless or transition tights, no shoes.

​

Contemporary
> Level 2 through 5 – Plain black leotard, suntan footed or transition tights, lyrical shoes.
> Intermediate/Advanced – Plain black leotard, suntan footless or transition tights, foot undies.

​

Boys
Plain black gym shorts or sweats, Palmyra Academy of Dance T-shirt.
Hip Hop – Sneakers designated for studio use only.
Tap – Black tie tap shoes
Ballet – Black ballet slippers
